Police seek witnesses after serious assault in Torquay

Police appeal for witnesses following Kingskerwell collision

Police are seeking witnesses following a serious assault in Torquay last week which resulted in a 66 year old man sustaining serious head injuries.

The assault took place between 5.40pm and 6pm on Thursday 19th February 2015 near the junction of GPO roundabout/ Rock Rd.

The man was found by an ambulance crew in the doorway of Cafe Grill, opposite Tesco Metro in Fleet Walk, Torquay and was taken to Torbay Hospital. He was later transferred to Derriford Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A wallet and mobile phone belonging to the victim have not been found.

A 25 year-old woman from Torquay was arrested on suspicion of robbery and has been released on police bail until 18th May 2015 pending further enquiries.

Detective Sgt Chris Tapley said: “We believe a number of people may have witnessed the incident and we are keen for anyone with information to come forward.”
