Police warn to be aware after counterfeit £50 notes used in Devon

Police are advising shops and businesses to be on their guard after several reports of fake Bank of England £50 notes being circulated in Devon.

In recent reports, there have been incidents of fake notes being used in Exeter on Tuesday, 12th September.

Males handed over the counterfeit £50 notes in a shop in Digby Road, Rydon Lane Retail Park, Exeter at 5pm and a clothing shop in Marsh Barton Retail Park at 2:30pm.

If you have persons you believe are handing over counterfeit notes please take a note of their descriptions and any vehicle registrations seen and phone 101.

If you have any information, or CCTV in the areas mentioned please email 101@dc.police.uk, or phone 101 quoting log 617 12 September 2017.
