[Update: https://wearesouthdevon.com/police-successfully-disrupt-illegal-rave-in-torbay/]

Police in Torbay are warning people not to attend an illegal rave that is planned to take place at Churston Cove, between Paignton and Brixham, from 7pm tonight (Tuesday 7 July).

Posting on Social Media, Torquay Police stated: “Officers are working with Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust, who are the land owners, to prevent the illegal rave from going ahead.

“Anyone looking to attend this event is advised not to travel to this location as no-one will be allowed on site.

“There will be increased patrols in the area around the potential rave site.

“The Force takes a tough stance against rave goers and organisers by closing down illegal gatherings and seizing any equipment associated with the activity, under the Criminal Justice Public Order Act, where necessary”

Inspector Justin Wyles, Sector Inspector for Paignton and Brixham, said: “Illegal raves will not be tolerated in our area. These types of unregulated events are not only dangerous to those attending but cause disruption to people living nearby.”

Anyone with information about the event is asked to call police on 101 quoting log 192 of 7 July.
