Police warning after handbags stolen in town centre

Police in Totnes have warned the public to be vigilant after at least 4 handbag thefts in Totnes town centre in the last 7 days.

A spokesperson for Totnes Police said on Facebook today, 3rd October:

“In the last 7 days, at least four handbags have been stolen from members of the public going about their business in the town centre. 

One bag was on the floor next to the victim when stolen, another on the front seat of a car whilst the victim was distracted at the boot.

Please bear this in mind when out and about,”

Police have said that all incidents are being investigated.
