Ivybridge & rural police posted on Facebook this morning:

“On Saturday the 22nd of July a female was riding her horse in the area of Cann Woods, this is on the road from Elfordliegh to Cadover, at approx 1300hrs.

“A white male in a dark jumper and wearing a black baseball cap jumped out of the bushes and tried to grab the females leg.  Luckily her horse ran off with her.  The female went straight to the Ranger who conducted a hasty search of the area which was negative.

“Please take great care when out riding in rural areas and let people know where you are going.
