Police have warned tradespeople to safeguard their tools after a number of thefts from vehicles in Totnes and Torbay.

Over £6000 worth of tools were stolen from a vehicle in Brixham recently.

Sgt Tim Perrin said on Totnes Police’s Facebook page:
“There has been a spate of thefts from vehicles loaded with tools across Totnes and Torbay in recent weeks. One vehicle in Brixham had £6000 of tools stolen.

“If you are a tradesman, please either empty your vans at night, or take other steps to safeguard your tools. Your tools are your livelihood!

“Enquiries are ongoing to trace the offenders.”
