Police warning following Marldon burglaries

Police in Totnes have advised the public to be aware following a series of house burglaries in Marldon.

All of the properties targeted were unoccupied at the time.

Totnes Police said on Facebook: “In recent weeks, there have been at least 3 burglaries to residential properties in Marldon. All burglaries appear linked where the offender is forcing entry and seemingly targeting jewellery.

“All properties were unoccupied at the time, with residents either on holiday or in hospital, which would indicate a level of planning.

“Please review your own security and those others would who may need your help. Likewise, if you have expensive, easily moveable items within your home (particularly jewellery) please think about how/where they are stored.

“Patrols have increased in Marldon whilst Torbay CID investigate this emerging series.”
