Prickly Ball Farm and Hedgehog Hospital closes

A local farm and hedgehog hospital has announced it has ceased trading from today, Monday 3rd September.

The announcement by Prickly Ball Farm and Hedgehog Hospital was made on social media this morning.

The farm and hospital near Newton Abbot, popular with both locals and tourists, has been open for over 30 years.

Posting on Facebook today, Prickly Ball Farm and Hedgehog Hospital said: “Dear Visitors, Annual Members & friends of Prickly Ball Farm.

“We are so very sad to report that as of this morning Monday 3rd September Prickly Ball Farm will cease trading due to new ownership.

“The last 5 years have been filled with blood,sweat, tears, love, laughter, hardships & togetherness.
We would like to take this opportunity to Thank all of our visitors for supporting us on the Prickly Ball Farm Journey.

“Over the years we have watched visitors come & go, families grow, friendships bloom & allowed our animals to be adored by so many of you.

“We know that this news will come as a surprise to many and that you and your families will be filled with sadness and disappointment.

“It has never been our intention to mislead anyone, but due to the nature of Prickly Ball Farm’s Sale strict privacy procedures had to be put into place.

“Please try to be mindful of the staff and animals who called Prickly Ball Farm their home at this extremely difficult time and rest assured our animals will be well cared for in their carefully selected new homes.

“Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
