Ramer Sponges donated 200 Ultra Soft Baby Sponges to the Exeter Baby Bank Network which helps to alleviate child poverty in homes within a 30-mile radius of Exeter, supporting families in need at time of financial and emotional stress.Ramer Sponges’ multi award-winning Ultra Soft Baby Sponges have been designed with a super fine texture to be kind towards baby’s delicate skin. Easy to hold and available in handy twin packs, the hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested sponges are ideal for top to tail baby hygiene. The sponges are also machine washable at 40o C so parents will not have to keep replacing them.

The Exeter Baby Bank Network will distribute the Ultra Soft Baby Sponges to families in need, free of charge, via the referral system that is in place. Families can be referred to the Exeter Baby Bank Network through their health visitors, social workers, or support workers.

The sponge producer also donated 200 Super Soft Body Sponges and 30 mitts to East Devon charity Hospiscare. Providing specialist care to patients and their families with life-limiting illnesses across Exeter, Mid and East Devon, Hospiscare will send some of the sponges to its hospices to assist with resident care. The volunteers will also use the products in beauty hampers which will be available to purchase in their charity shops across Devon and will be used as raffle prizes at fundraising events.

Nick Hunt, Sales and Marketing Manager at Ramer Sponges, commented: “As a business that has been run by the same family for decades, we’ve always valued the strong relationship we have with our customers and local community. Body sponges play an important role in everyday hygiene but sadly, some families need to make the choice between body care products and putting food on the table. This is why charities like the Exeter Baby Bank Network are so fantastic as they help support families in need. We’re pleased to be able to support this charity to ensure that every baby in the local area enjoys a bath with a Ramer Sponge.”

Nick continued: “As a Honiton based business, Hospiscare is close to home and when they made a call-out for donations, we were only too pleased to help. Our Super Soft Body Sponges have been loved by our customers for generations so we hope they will bring some comfort to those in need. They will also make an excellent addition to the beauty hampers as they work so well with shower gels and soaps, making products work harder and last longer.”
