Recruitment drive as demand for homes continues to surge

High demand for new homes in the south west, from Somerset to Cornwall, is fuelling a significant rise in the number of new jobs that Barratt Homes is offering in the region, with manual roles such as bricklayers, roofers and forklift drivers among those that the 5-star housebuilder is on the lookout for.

The scale and complexity of the developments that Barratt Homes is working on means that construction teams are always learning new skills and are supported to push on and master new techniques so that homes are finished on time and to the highest standard as evidenced by Barratt Homes site teams regularly winning NHBC Pride in the Job awards.

Barratt Homes Exeter Managing Director, Andrew Spicer, said: “Business is booming here in the south west and we are on the lookout for hard-working and enthusiastic people to join in a variety of roles as we build much-needed new homes. Whatever your age and experience, there will be a position that suits you in our construction teams.

Barratt Homes has always been passionate about supporting the local economies and communities where we work, committed to recruiting local trades people wherever possible. As the UK’s largest housebuilder we are well placed to offer exciting, varied, long-term career opportunities that are genuinely rewarding.

As a leading housebuilder, we have an obligation to support our communities. The sheer amount of jobs that are underpinned from the very early stages of development right up until our sales team leaves the site provides a crucial boost to the local economy.”

Barratt Homes is creating new communities throughout the south west. This includes Victoria Heights in Alphington (pictured) just a few miles from Exeter, Elworthy Place near Taunton and Treledan near Saltash, a stone’s throw from the beautiful Tamar Valley.
