Update: Armed police have entered a property and appear to have detained a person.

Police are currently at the scene of an incident in Torquay.

Tamar Avenue is closed with a police cordon in place.

Multiple police cars are at the scene with armed police present.

An ambulance and air ambulance have left the area but the nature of the incident is currently unknown.

Residents say they were told to stay inside.
