Road works will begin on Torquay Road today, Monday 31 October 2016, major road works will commence at the junction with Cecil Road, Paignton, for an estimated four weeks.
Three way traffic lights will be in place for the first two weeks whilst work takes place in the Paignton bound lane. In the following two weeks, the Torquay bound side will be reconstructed. During this period, Cecil Road will be closed at the junction and a diversion will be in place with Torquay Road operating under two way traffic lights.
All of the affected properties, local schools and bus companies have been notified in writing and pre-warning signs have been erected and in place for two weeks prior to work commencing.
The road will be resurfaced after the road works have been completed.
Delays in the area are expected, temporary traffic lights will be manned when the contractor is on site.
The works are part of the council’s Autumn Resurfacing Program, are costing around £90,000 and are being carried out by CORMAC Construction, the authority’s surfacing partner.
