Rowcroft is telling Teignbridge residents to prepare themselves and their washing machines as its massively popular event, The Rowcroft Colour Rush, returns to Teignmouth on Sunday 11 June!
The event invites participants to complete a 5k route along Teignmouth Beach while being showered in brightly coloured powder paint.
Last year marked the first time Rowcroft held the legendary rainbow-coloured run in Teignmouth, and organisers are delighted the event will be returning to the town for the second year.
Daniel Robson, Rowcroft Hospice’s Events Manager, explains: “Last year more than 650 people took part in Teignmouth’s inaugural Colour Rush and together raised an incredible £47,500 for people living with life-limiting illnesses in South Devon.
“It was fantastic to see the local area unite to support South Devon’s local hospice and we’re now delighted to be offering anyone who missed out, and anyone who’d like to repeat the colour craziness, the chance to complete South Devon’s brightest 5k in 2017.”
In 2016, Rowcroft supported 392 people living with life-limiting illnesses in the Teignbridge area, and over 1,000 more of their friends and family, to make the most of every precious moment they had together.
Daniel added: “2016 was an incredibly difficult year for Rowcroft as we faced a drastic funding shortfall. We are now regaining our financial stability but throughout that time have continued to support thousands of people in Teignbridge who’ve needed our help to face the hardest days imaginable.
“We want Teignmouth’s Colour Rush to be a celebration of the amazing local people we’re able to support and also of the incredible support we’ve received from the local community throughout a very turbulent few months.”
As part of the celebrations Rowcroft is also planning a day of festivities on Saturday 10 June – with more details to be announced soon.
Daniel said: “We are currently working on some exciting plans for the day before our 5k Colour Rush takes place and look forward to sharing more details with you soon…watch this space!”
Registration for The Colour Rush Teignmouth will open on Wednesday 1 March.
