Update: Robert Johnston has been found safe and well.
The search for a missing Salcombe man continues, a week after he was last seen.
Today’s search was based at South Sands with police using a drone to search from the air.
Robert Johnston known as Rab, aged 40 has not been seen since Thursday, 24th May.
Mr Johnston, who lives in Salcombe is described as a white male, slim build, short cut mousey hair which is slightly greying He habitually wears baggy jeans and a hoody.
Senior Coastguard Operations Officer Drew Parkinson has asked the public not to speculate, posting on twitter:
“Please do not speculate. Facts are as follows:
1. Robert ‘Rab’ Johnston is still missing.
2. A major search operation was conducted by HMCG, Police & Fire today based at South Sands.
3. The shelter on the beach was a Coastguard shelter for searchers. This was NOT a forensic tent.”
