A search for two missing fisherman has been called off.
The search for the missing men was suspended overnight and resumed this morning at 7.30am. After 7 hours, the search ended at 2.30pm.
Three men were on board the Joanna C fishing vessel when it sank off the East Sussex coast yesterday morning.
One of the men was found clinging to a lifebouy on Saturday morning by RNLI crews and taken to hospital.
A spokesperson for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency said: “HM Coastguard confirmed that the search which resumed at 7.30am Sunday morning, has now finished at 2.30pm.
“Units helping with the search today included Newhaven and Eastbourne RNLI lifeboats and Eastbourne and Birling Gap Coastguard Rescue Teams as well as local fishing vessels.
“Sadly nothing further has been found today.”
