Road closures are still in place following the fire at Shedden Hall Hotel on Shedden Hill this morning, Tuesday 4th June.Emergency services were called to the blaze just before 7am this morning.Fire crews from around South Devon attended the incident.
Sheddon Hill – remains closed but when the Fire Brigade leave the restriction will be moved up past Applebys.
Tor Hill Road – the left hand turn into Abbey Road remains closed.
St. Lukes Road – to remain closed at the junction with Abbey Road.
Croft Road – still closed at Croft Hill but when the Fire Brigade leave this will be lifted but there will be no access to Shedden Hill.
Warren Road – now open.
Torbay council said on Facebook: “Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service have reduced the number of crews on site but a couple of appliances still remain to continue damping down.”When the Fire Service have confirmed it is safe to do so the residents who were displaced from the building next door will be able to return, apart from one. This is due to part of their living area being right next to the site. This tenant has been found other accommodation until it is safe for them to return.”Building Control remain on site and will be working with the Fire Brigade to ensure the building is safe and the road right outside can re-open. This may take some days,”
