Shiphay Learning Academy have been reflecting on how they can look out for others, look after themselves and build positivity within the local community.
We started this off by making cards which we sent to the cruise liners to provide some joy to those who were without their loved ones over Christmas . We then spread some winter wellness to members of our local community by sending them cards created by the younger children in school. Alongside this, we have been creating artwork which we are sharing with the NHS and Rowcroft Hospice to try and bring a smile to others.
In addition to thinking about others, we have been thinking about how to look after ourselves and remain positive ourselves every day of the week. We have been having dance-alongs, joining in with Joe Wicks’ PE lessons, going for runs, completing yoga sessions, exploring mindfulness activities, meditating and visiting the forest.
We have also had a whole day centered around looking after our mental wellbeing. We have reflected on our emotions, how we manage these and how we communicate these emotions with others. We have understood how important it is that we look after our wellbeing, make time for looking after ourselves and try to stay as positive as we can be. We have reflected on what we can all be thankful for and really thought about how much we appreciate our friends, families and loved ones, now and always.
