They are inviting people to join one of their climate conversations aimed at prioritising how climate change should be tackled locally to create a thriving Torbay.

Four half-day workshops organised by the new Torbay Climate Partnership and Torbay Council are taking place on Thursday 26 May and Friday 27 May Each half day workshop will look at a different theme that will help tackle climate change.

The themed conversations will be on  Waste Minimisation and food, Nature-Based climate Solutions, Transport and Mobility, and Decarbonising Homes. These were identified as climate priorities at the Council’s Community Conference in November 2021.

Councillor Mike Morey, Cabinet Member for Infrastructure, Environment and Culture for Torbay Council, said: “The events will be a great opportunity to hear about what is already going on across the Bay and to hear inspiring presenters on what we can do locally to  address the urgent issue of climate change. Following on from this session there will also n be an event for the community in the summer and then a full public consultation in the autumn outlining how Torbay aims to accelerate action to tackle climate change and become carbon neutral by 2030.”
