A teenage boy sadly died in Brixham yesterday, 1st January 2018. He was found at Berry Head cliffs following a search last night.
Police were called to reports of concern for welfare at around 7.30pm.
Police, RNLI, Coastguard and police helicopter were involved in a search for the boy, reported to be 17 years old.
Torbay Coastguard said on Facebook: “We were tasked by Maritime and Coastguard Agency to assist Berry Head Coastguard with a search for a missing person at Berry Head. We sent out several search teams, RNLITorbay carried out a shoreline search and NPAS Benson searched from the air. One of our teams located the missing person and gave first aid until South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust were on scene,”
NPAS Exeter posted to Twitter: “9pm: We have been hovering over Berry Head for quite a while this evening using our night sun to offer tactical support to @DC_Police for an ongoing incident. Police and @MCA_media on scene. No threat to the public. Log 1052 refers,”

The death is not thought to be suspicious.
