Local covid-19 response resource, Torbay Help Hub turns one today.
The Torbay Help Hub was established on March 22nd 2020 by Local Liberal Democrat councillor for Ellacombe, Jack Dart.
Since then, the Help Hub has grown into a thriving community asset where people exchange items, help others and offer support and services to fellow residents.
In a statement on the Help Hub facebook group today, Mr Dart said: “One year ago today, on March 22nd 2020, I set up the Torbay Help Hub. It grew fast and became a beacon of hope, a force for good and a trusted resource for residents in Torbay during the covid nightmare.
“The help hub will continue to operate long into the future, and I’ll continue to maintain it, along with my great team of moderators who plug away every day to make sure you have a great community asset.
“Thank you so much Torbay, not just for making the Help Hub a huge success, but for helping your neighbours and everyone who has benefited from using it during the past 12 months.
“I am so proud of the help hub, and I want to give a special thank you to the Torbay Community Development Trust for the work they did with the phone lines, and the wider community action taken to help people during the pandemic.”
