Torquay seafront remains closed this morning, Monday 19th March.
The seafront was closed by the council last night at around 7.30pm due to high waves.
It will remain closed until a cleanup can be arranged.
Posting on Facebook this morning, Torbay Council said: “Torquay seafront is still closed, and will remain closed until a cleanup can be arranged.
“We are currently focussing our efforts on keeping the main road network clear and open. Main routes have been cleared to a minimum of one lane and TOR2 are working to clear more difficult parts of the primary network.
“Please avoid all but essential travel,”
Last night the council warned of snow and ice on the diversion route.
We will update as information becomes available.
