Torre Abbey Museum’s Open Air Cinema Festival returns in August, with 9 nights of alfresco screenings under the stars and amongst the romantic ruins.

There’s something for everyone, with highlights this year including Bohemian Rhapsody, The Greatest Showman, Moulin Rouge, A Star is Born, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure (30th anniversary screening), Mary Poppin’s Returns and Fisherman’s Friends.

Kevin Dixon went to Audley Park – now Torquay Academy – and South Devon College when it was at Torre. After studying at Birmingham City University, he returned home because there’s nowhere else quite like Torquay. He then became involved in community and adult education, completed a PhD, and started writing about the weird and unknown side of town.
