Fire crews were called to a property at Torquay Road, Kingskerswell earlier today, Tuesday 28th May.
One fire engine was initially mobilised from Torquay, with a second, also from Torquay, later attending.
Two people were rescued from the property.
Devon and Somerset Fire and rescue service said on their website: “Once the crew got in attendance at the property the officer in charge confirmed this to be a fire on the hob within the kitchen. The crews rescued two persons from the property and got to work to extinguish the fire using one hose reel jet, one covering jet and positive pressure ventilation fan in use.
“The officer in charge requested the attendance of 1 further fire engine to attend this fire. Fire control sent the second fire engine from Torquay.
“The crews have made the area safe cause of this fire is believed to be accidental,”
