Two people were taken to hospital following a collision in Torquay this morning, 29th January.
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision between a van and a car on Hele at around 6.50am.
Police, ambulance and fire crews attended. Police closed the road both ways.
Both vehicles had casualties. Two fire engines, both from Torquay used hydraulic rescue equipment to release the man and woman.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said on their website:
“Crews awaited the arrival of paramedics before using hydraulic rescue equipment to release both casualties, one male and one female. Both were conveyed to hospital. Crews made the scene safe and duty of care was left with the Police,”
