Two Torquay GP Surgeries closed over Coronavirus fears

Chelston Hall Surgery and Barton Surgery in Torquay are currently closed due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Both surgeries will remain closed until at least 16th March on advice from Publuc Health England.

There have been two confirmed cases of Coronavirus in South Devon, one being a pupil at Churston Ferrers Grammar School which closed on Monday due to concerns about the virus and remains closed today.

A statement on their website says:
Following advice from Public Health England, Chelston Hall Surgery and Barton Surgery will be closed until at least 16 March 2020 to help to contain the current outbreak of Coronavirus. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes our patients. For those that have appointments booked we will be in contact with you to arrange alternative support.

If you need urgent medical help or advice and aren’t sure where to go, use NHS 111 online or by phone.

We are working with local providers to ensure that all patients registered with the practice continue to access local GP and health services during this period.

If you have been to one of the affected countries listed on the GOV.UK website in relation to coronavirus, or believe you have come into contact with a confirmed case, please visit NHS 111 online at 111.NHS.UK for further advice.
