There are still delays with waste and recycling collections in Torbay due to staff having to isolate following a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the recycling and waste team.

It was previously announced collections were expected to return to normal from 2nd November but there have been further delays whilst SWISCo catch up with collections.

A spokesperson said today: “Please continue to leave your waste and recycling out in front of your homes for collection and our teams at SWISCo will collect them as soon as possible.

“As you will be aware there have been some delays to recycling collections over the past couple of weeks due to a significant number of SWISCo staff needing to self-isolate following a confirmed COVID case. We apologise for the delays.

“We are pleased to confirm we have additional crews this week who are assisting us to clear up the backlog and collect any missed collections.

“Thank you for your continued patience during these challenging times.”
