Van ‘casing’ Brixham properties reported to police

Tools stolen from vans in Torquay and Newton Abbot

Brixham Police have posted on Facebook today that they have had reports of males in a white transit ‘casing’ Brixham properties.

They said they’d had reports from members of the public about suspicious activity and state the van and it’s occupants are no longer in the area thanks to local residents.

Posting on Facebook Brixham Police said: “Today we had reports of suspicious males in a white transit van ‘casing’ residential properties in Brixham. The van was stopped by marked and unmarked units. The vans occupants are from the Birmingham area and allegedly travel far and wide with a view to commit offences (theft related).

“On this occasion, thanks to the Brixham community they were thwarted and we can report they are no longer in Brixham or indeed Torbay, having been escorted away! Many thanks,”
