Video: Woman winched to safety following cliff fall

A woman was rescued from rocks in Torquay earlier today.

The woman was winched to safety by the coastguard helicopter and taken to Derriford hospital at around 3.45pm.

It is believed the woman had been stuck there for sometime. The woman’s condition is currently unknown.

We happened to be at Meadfoot beach at the time and saw the event unfolding.

The RNLI lifeboat was also on the scene.

Torbay Coastguard posted a video from the scene of the accident:
