Police are warning businesses and the public to be aware that forged £50 notes are being used in the Devon and Cornwall area.
Police have said that there have been numerous incidents in Plymouth today, Friday 4th May where forged £50 notes have been passed to shops for the purchase goods and are advising businesses to check all notes carefully before accepting payment.
You can contact the police on 101 if anyone attempts to pass forged notes.
Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or reporting online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org
