Police in Kingsbridge have appealed for witnesses after an 18 year old man was forced into a vehicle and assaulted.
The incident happened in West Alvington on Tuesday, 24th October at around 9.30pm. The victim received injuries to his head and legs, along with bruising to his body.
Posting on Facebook today, 13th November, Kingsbridge Police said:
“We are investigating an incident which happened on Tuesday 24th October 2017. At approximately 2130hrs an 18 year old male was forced into a vehicle in Woodhouse Lane, West Alvington, which is next to The Ring O’Bells. He was then driven to another location and subjected to an assault. He was released by the attackers close to West Alvington Cricket Club. A passing female motorist, who is described as Polish, possibly in her 40’s and driving a 4×4 then drove him home after he flagged her down. The victim received injuries to his head and legs, and bruising to his body.
Two people have been arrested as a result of the incident and have been released under investigation.
We would like to trace anyone who may have been in the area at the time, anyone who may have witnessed anything, and also the female who drove the victim home.

Detective Constable Laura Logan, of South Devon CID, said: “This was a very serious incident and thankfully the victim did not sustain more serious injuries.
“We are appealing to anyone who may be able to provide any information regarding the incident, or who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area at the time of the offence, to contact police.
“I would like to reassure residents that offences such as this are very unusual, particularly in an area like Kingsbridge.”
