Police appeal for witnesses following Paignton Assault

Police have appealed for witnesses of an assault in the town on Sunday 22 May.

A  24 year old man from Paignton was assaulted in Victoria Street between 3.20am and 3.35am.

The victim suffered a small cut to the head and concussion and was taken to Torbay Hospital by ambulance.

The man was being helped by a passerby who was concerned for his welfare as he appeared to be under the influence of drugs. He was surrounded by a group of approximately six men one of whom, around twenty years old and with a dog on a lead, punched the victim in the face.

Anyone with information that could assist the police with identifying the attacker or anyone in the group of men is asked to email Devon and Cornwall Police via 101@dc.police.uk or call 101 quoting reference CR/035108/16
