Police cordon off area in Paignton due to incident

A woman was airlifted to hospital following a collision early this evening, 7th April.

Emergency services were called to Totnes Road, Newton Abbot to reports of a collision between a double decker bus and a car.

Police concerned for welfare of man missing from Torquay

Fire crews from Newton Abbot, Torquay and Paignton were mobilised to the incident at around 7.15pm. Police, the ambulance service and the air ambulance also attended the scene.

One woman was trapped in the car and was freed by the fire service.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: 

“Crews used hydraulic equipment and small tools to extricate the casualty, working alongside paramedics. Crews also used environmental protection equipment to deal with leakages from the vehicles. The casualty was taken to hospital via Air Ambulance,”
