A woman was taken to hospital following an accident in Torquay this morning.
Emergency services were called to Shiphay, Torquay after a car left the road and overturned.
The accident happened in the early hours of this morning.
Two fire crews from Torquay attended the incident.
A fire service spokesperson said:
“On arrival crews discovered one vehicle on its roof in the garden of a house. One elderly female was still in the vehicle.
“Crews got to work stabilising the vehicle.
“Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment, stab fast and small tools to release the elderly female who was then transported to hospital via land ambulance,”
The woman, 66, was taken to Torbay Hospital.
Shiphay Lane was partially blocked until 9.30am this morning whilst recovery of the vehicle took place.
