Woman rescued from Torquay cliff

A woman was rescued from a cliff in Torquay earlier this afternoon.

Fire crews and coastguard were called to reports of a woman who had slipped from the coastal path and fallen 20ft down a cliff at Oddicombe.

One fire appliance from Torquay, one from Paignton and the Specialist Rescue Team from Camels Head were mobilised to this incident along with Torbay Coastguard.

The woman was rescued using a ladder and a spokesperson for the fire service has stated she was uninjured.

A spokesperson for Torbay Coastguard said:
“Full team page to reports of a femaile stuck on cliffs at Oddicombe beach. The females had heard music whilst walking on the coast path and tried to get down to Oddicombe beach. Fire crews on scene used two ladders to recue the casaulty and then ambulance staff gave them a check over”
