The Palace Hotel is currently closed, the council have been in contact with the Managing Agent to resolve the issue.

Torbay Council said today: “Following the urgent road closure of Ansteys Cove Road, we have been in contact with the Managing Agent for the Palace Hotel site and we are advised scaffolding will be going up this week to deal with the drain pipe that is precariously hanging 4 storeys high above the road. This will mean that the road closure will need to stay in place until at least next week. Once the work has been completed we will reassess and check that it is safe for pedestrians and cars to use.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused to neighbours and those who use the road on a regular basis however public safety is paramount.”
