A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “It is alleged that an adult male was filming a group of young people gathering in the covered promenade and was asked to stop by the victim.

“The teen was then assaulted, struck with a broken bottle and suffered a deep cut to his face which required hospital treatment and stitches.

“The suspect is described as an adult male with dark hair, aged in his 30s, around 5ft 10in in height, and of slim build.

“It is known there were around 20 young people in the area at the time who may have witnessed the assault.”
