The incident happened at around 3pm on Saturday 4th July.

A man, dressed in black wearing a surgical face mask, drove a white BMW into a garden wall on Fore Street before making off on foot into Sutherland Drive. The man was not the vehicles owner.

Police have asked for anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to contact them.

A 22-year-old man from Kingsteignton has been arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol, failing to stop after a collision, dangerous driving, and taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent. He has been released on police bail until Saturday 25 July pending further enquiries.

Anyone with any information which could assist police enquiries is asked to contact police on 101 or email 101@dc.police.uk requesting to speak to PC Oliver Hill and quoting log number 468, 4/7/20.
