Appeal for witnesses following serious assault in Newton Abbot

Trains delayed due to incident at Torre train station

Police have appealed for witnesses following reports of a serious assault in Newton Abbot last week.

Two teenagers, a male and a female, both aged 17, were assaulted by a male who was in possession of a knife. The incident is reported to have taken place near the bus station on Sherbourne Road between 10pm and 10.20pm on Thursday 13 January.

The male victim sustained injuries to his head and back. The female victim sustained an injury to her hand.

Officers are continuing to carry out a number of enquiries in relation to this matter and are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have information which could assist the investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the assault, and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting CR/003670/22.
