Appeal for witnesses following violent altercation in Exeter

Trains delayed due to incident at Torre train station

Police have appealed for witnesses and dashcam footage following an altercation that took place in Exeter last month.

The incident is believed to have involved at least four people and happened in the Goldsmith Street and North Lawn Court areas of Heavitree on 7 January.

A man in his 20s sustained a serious injury to his hand. Four men have been released on bail following police interview.

A police spokesperson said: “We are investigating a violent altercation that took place last month. It is believed that this took place in the street and involved at least four people.

“We believe that there could be a number of witnesses who could assist us with our investigation.

“We have interviewed four men under caution in connection to this matter, all have been released on police bail until later in the month.

“We wish to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam footage or CCTV footage that can help us with our enquiries.”
