Police in Torquay have appealed to the public to help them find a man who assisted two PCSOs in Abbey Road this morning, Friday 22nd May.
Two PCSOs were assaulted whilst dealing with an incident.
The member of the public helped to restrain the man who was later arrested
Torquay Police said on Facebook: “Earlier this morning Officers were called to an incident in Abbey Road following reports from concerned members of the public. Thanks to the help of 2 of our local PCSO’s who were in the area a male involved was swiftly located.
“Unfortunately whilst the PCSO’s attempted to help the individual he lashed out and assaulted both PCSO’s. Following a brief struggle the male was restrained and has been arrested for Assaulting an Emergency Worker along with Sexual Assault and remains in custody assisting us with our enquiries.
“Can we add a special thanks to the member of the public who witnessed this and couragously came and assisted our PCSO’s in restraining this violent individual. Unfortunately we weren’t able to take his details at the time but if anybody knows who this might be we’d be greatful if he could get in touch. Log 225 of 22/05/2020 refers.”
