Those that received help from the homebuilder over the past 12 months include the Devon Air Ambulance which last year celebrated 30 years of service, having been deployed to over 31,000 missions. From shores to moors, they swiftly navigate any terrain to provide critical care. The combined efforts from everyone in the skies and on the ground meant that in 2021 alone Devon Air Ambulance aided over 1,000 patients and completed 844 medical missions.

Tracy Owen, Corporate Engagement Manager said: “Our business supporters are a very important part of our supporter community, and we were incredibly pleased to receive the amazing donation of £1500 from Barratt David Wilson Homes. Receiving kind and generous gifts like this, helps us to keep responding to the critically ill and injured across Devon, so we would like to say a sincere thank you to all at Barratt David Wilson Homes for choosing to support Devon Air Ambulance.”

St Petrock’s Exeter is another charity that received a donation from the housebuilder. St Petrock’s focus on helping people to help themselves, providing advice, support and services on a range of issues like mental health, which help people deal with the difficulties often associated with homelessness. St Petrock’s is the first point of contact for many people and is open seven days a week and supports over 600 people per annum that are faced with homelessness or difficulties.

Peter Stephenson, Director of St Petrock’s said: “The local business community is particularly supportive, and this generous donation from Barratt David Wilson Homes is a huge boost to us at this challenging time when cold weather and the cost of living crisis are combining to make life extremely hard for those in greatest need.”

Nicki Reid, sales director for Barratt David Wilson Homes Exeter, added: “We are proud to have supported so many charities over the past year. They all work tirelessly to improve the lives of those in need and we hope our donations will allow them to continue to support as many people as possible. We look forward to continuing with our charity initiatives throughout 2023.”

Every month, each Barratt David Wilson Homes division can donate £1,500 to a local concern that works to improve the quality of life for those living in their area.

Barratt David Wilson Homes Exeter is currently building much-needed new housing in Devon, including at Berry Acres in Paignton and Hampton Mill on the edge of Okehampton, set within almost four acres of public open space and close to a range of independent shops and restaurants.
