Change of location for Torbay’s mobile Covid testing unit

Torbay Council’s mobile testing unit (MTU) for people with COVID-19 symptoms is moving to a new location from this Monday (21 February).
The MTU will operate from Torre Valley Car Park in Walnut Road, Torquay, TQ2 5JY.

It’s currently located at Lymington Road Coach Station but its last day of operation there will be Sunday 20 February.

The move is to enable the redevelopment of the coach station.

Torre Valley Car Park remains open for parking at a slightly reduced capacity while the MTU is on site.

Councillor Jackie Stockman, Cabinet Member for Adults and Public Health, said: “Testing is still very important as it helps to limit the spread and enables us to have more freedoms.

“Although the new site will still be in use for parking, there will be less space, so we’d ask that people using it try and park considerately.”

The council’s other testing site, the LTS at Torbay Leisure Centre Car Park in Paignton, continues to operate as normal.
