It’s the talk of Torquay – No Christmas lights in Torquay this year.
With Torquay’s Chamber of commerce confirming that there will be no lights [https://wearesouthdevon.com/25198-2/ ] people took to social media to have their say – and many of them used the Facebook page Spotted Torquay to discuss. From poems to mocking images, complaints to sheer outrage.

But then there was hope. Could Christmas be saved? Local business man Ashley Sims and Spotted Torquay’s ‘Mr. Spotted’ think so.

It may be too late to light up the streets of Torquay’s town centre the conventional way, so what’s in store? The two are in talks with others to get creative and bring some light to the town. With ideas buzzing around, they are hoping to release some more information later today.
Can Ashley and Mark light up the town with a few days of planning and rallying around other business people?
Will Torquay be left in darkness? We hope not. Bring on the Christmas cheer!
