Princes, princesses and fairies are invited to a fun-packed family day of fairy tale fantasy at Torquay Museum on Saturday 11th February to launch the brand new Once Upon a Time: Fairy Tales, Then & Now exhibition.
Talented Johnny Depp Mad Hatter impersonator, Jonty Depp, will be at Torquay Museum in person to entertain visitors, accompanied by a cast of dragons, princesses, fairies, Cinderella and Prince Charming. Visitors are encouraged to come in fancy dress and can enter a competition for the best costume.
There will be a free fairy tale film shown in the Museum’s own cinema, and little princes and princesses can follow the Fairy Tale Trail around the Museum and win a prize. There will also be lots of fairy tale-related arts and crafts activities too, from face painting to dragon making.
Torquay Museum’s new Once Upon a Time: Fairy Tales, Then & Now exhibition tells the story of fairy tales, their history and how they influence the modern world, from film to books, featuring real spinning wheels, a cauldron, witch’s broom and fairy tale dress.
Tickets for Torquay Museum’s Fairy Tale Day on Saturday 11th February, from 10am – 4pm, are £5 each, which includes entrance to the whole Museum together with a free fairy tale film in the Museum’s cinema.
