What a week we have had!! From virtually pulling the plug on thew whole show, to being on BBC South West Spotlight news!
We have had an action packed couple of weeks from the BBC crew coming to film us, to comments on social media, journalists contacting us, talks with local supermarkets and independent retailers, we are really starting to boom.
We are in talks with our partners to carry out workshops and cooking demonstrations in local schools too, which is so exciting.
Children have so much fun when they are cooking, and when they have fun they don’t realise they are being educated too. From fine motor skills, kitchen safety, counting, weighing, colours, numbers, listening and problem solving just to name a few. If anyone wants advice to get their children to help in the kitchen then just message us on facebook.
Health is also a massive factor to what we do. We, as a country, currently have the most obese children in Europe. Unhealthy bodies start to happen way before obesity hits. If we changed a few of our meals to veggie meals, make good meals in advance in bulk and cut some of the bad snacking then I am sure we can combat out children’s bad health.
Most children are fine, but low income, busy working lives and other factors can really make it hard for us parents to keep good food landing on the table every day.
This is why we are teaming up with some fantastic unknown local heroes to help each and every family which needs it, to have every chance available of becoming the healthiest they can be.
