Hi. My name is Lyn. I’m a 73 year old retired nurse and on 3rd August I will be standing on top of a biplane hundreds of feet above the ground (gulp!). To be honest, I’ve always wanted to do it and combining it with raising money for Rowcroft Hospice seems a win win situation.
I love the NHS having worked in it for 30+ years but the care and support the Hospice gives, helping patients and their loved ones make the most of the time they have together, is beyond what the NHS can provide.
The staff in the Hospice have expertise in symptom relief, pain control and supporting people at the end of their lives enabling people to die in their own homes with support from the Rowcroft Hospice at Home team and with their loved ones.
Far more than just physical care they provide emotional support to the whole family including the children. Their holistic care can include complimentary therapy, occupational therapy, music and art therapies.
They are part of joined up care liaising with the hospital and GP surgeries. However they are an independent charity and 70% of their funding comes from the generosity of local people like us.
Without this generosity there would be no Hospice. Can you spare some money, however small an amount for this worthy cause? It would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
Lyn
