Major incident declared as double decker bus overturns

A major incident has been declared by police after a double decker bus overturned on Totnes Road this morning, Saturday 5th October.

The A385 Totnes Road is currently closed.

Emergency services are at the scene of the incident.

Police, fire and ambulance crews are in attendance.

Totnes police said on Facebook: “Major incident declared as a double decker bus has overturned on the A385 near to Longcombe Cross.

“The road is currently closed in both directions. Please bear with us as we deal with the incident and do completely avoid the area and surrounding lanes, including the Berry Pomeroy road until further notice,”

We have just been informed of a major incident following a collision involving a double-decker bus on the A385 between Totnes and Paignton, near to Lombcrombe Cross. Details are still emerging, in the meantime can we please avoid the area. Closures are expected to remain in 1/2

Traffic between Paignton and Totnes is affected.
