Man dies after falling from Window in Exeter

Man dies following assault in Exeter last night

A 39-year old man has died following a fall from a flat window in Exeter today.

Police attended St James Road, Exeter this afternoon following concerns for a man in one of the properties. Police remained outside the property  and were able to engage in discussions with the man, who was communicating from the 3rd floor flat window.

A Police spokesperson said:

“Whilst police were at the scene and in discussions with the man, it appears that the has fallen from the window of the flat and suffered a serious head injury. 

“Police officers gave emergency treatment to the man following the fall prior to paramedics arriving, but he was later pronounced deceased at the scene.”

The road was closed and a cordon put in place.

The case has been referred to the IPCC by Devon and Cornwall Police.
