A man who died following a collision in Torquay last week has been named.
The collision between a vehicle and a tree happened on Falkland Road on Thursday 11th October at around 3.30 am.
The driver was taken to Torbay District Hospital with minor injuries. The rear passenger sustained a serious leg injury and was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
The front passenger was confirmed as deceased at the scene. He has been named as Andrei Zaharia, a 23-year-old Romanian national who was living in Torquay. His next of kin are being supported by a Family Liaison Officer.
A 19-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He was later released under investigation pending further enquiries.
