Police found a young child reported as missing in their house taking a nap.
Police were called to reports of a missing child in Torquay yesterday, emergency services were alerted just after 3pm.
Fortunately, the 2-year-old was found safe and well hidden in duvets and blankets that they had wrapped themselves up in.
Paignton Police explained on Facebook: “Reports of vulnerable missing people always increase the sense of urgency in a search but nothing touches a nerve quite like a report of a missing child.
“Yesterday at 1510, we received a report of a missing 2 year old in Torquay.
“Immediately, the radio was taken over by Officers volunteering to help search and they began to flood the area.
“Inspectors, Sergeants, Force Intelligence Officers, nearby Armed Response Officers, Response PCs, Force Support Group Officers and Neighbourhood PCs and PCSOs all dropped what they were doing to be involved in the search. Fire were also requested to help search and NPAS were preparing to attend.
“At 1537 during a thorough search of the property by PCs the child was found inside the house having completely wrapped themselves up in duvets and blankets and was having a nice little nap.
“The best possible outcome in a search where every minute feels more like an hour and such a relief for everyone involved.”
